Nutrition Awareness Programme Held at Anganwadi in Palthur Sector

Uravakonda: A Nutrition Pakhwada awareness programme was conducted at Anganwadi Centre No. 7 in Havaligi village under Palthur sector of Uravakonda project in Anantapur district. The programme was organised as per the instructions of the CDPO Madam and was led by ICDS Supervisor Pushpa.

During the programme, mothers of children below two years were educated about the importance of proper nutrition and healthy food habits. They were advised to avoid giving outside food to children and instead provide freshly prepared homemade meals.

Officials emphasized the importance of including fruits, vegetables, and pulses in children’s daily diet to ensure proper growth and immunity. Mothers were also cautioned against feeding junk food, highlighting its harmful effects on children’s health.

In addition, awareness was created about the negative impact of mobile phone usage among young children. Videos were shown to explain how excessive screen exposure can affect physical and mental development.

A pledge was administered to the mothers, encouraging them to adopt healthy feeding practices and ensure better care for their children.

Anganwadi workers Nagaveni, Ambika, Sumita, and Sesikala, along with several mothers, participated in the programme.

Officials stated that such awareness initiatives play a vital role in improving child nutrition and promoting healthier communities in rural areas.
