AISF, AIYF Leaders Submit 10-Point Memorandum to Minister Nara Lokesh Demanding Immediate Action
RAYADURGAM, (True Times India):Situated on the Karnataka border, the Rayadurgam constituency has been severely lagging in the education, healthcare, and employment sectors. Highlighting this backwardness, leaders of the All India Students Federation (AISF) and All India Youth Federation (AIYF) appealed to the state government for immediate intervention. On Monday, they submitted a formal memorandum detailing their concerns to the State Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Anantapur District AISF and AIYF Treasurers Anjaneyulu and Kavali Kotresh expressed their dismay, stating that even after eight decades of independence, the Rayadurgam region remains deprived of basic development. They urged the government to focus specially on creating essential educational and medical infrastructure.
- Educational Upgrades: Introduce PG courses at KTS Degree College, establish a B.Sc Nursing college in the old hospital building, and set up a Government ITI and Mines & Metallurgy courses at the Bellary Road Polytechnic hostel.
- Healthcare Staffing: Immediately fill the 23 vacant doctor positions at the Rayadurgam Government Hospital, along with nursing, scanning, radiology, and scavenger posts.
- Infrastructure & Faculty: Expedite the pending building construction works for Kanekal Degree College, Girls' Junior College, and Hirehal Gurukulam, and appoint regular teachers.
- Priority for Locals: Resolve the drinking water crisis at Gonabavi and Kanekal Cross Gurukulams and allocate 50% of the seats to local students. Mandate a 50% job reservation for locals in regional industries.
- Social Justice: Issue SC caste certificates to the Beda Budaga Jangam community immediately.
- Settur Hostel Tragedy: Provide an ex-gratia of Rs. 50 lakh to the family of the student who died in the Settur SC hostel wall collapse, and ensure advanced medical treatment for the injured students.
