The victim’s father, auto driver Ameer Ali, reportedly had a dispute with his wife Gausia Begum over clothes for the upcoming Ramadan festival. In a fit of rage, Begum allegedly suffocated the infant with a pillow.
Although the child was immediately rushed to the hospital, doctors confirmed that she had already passed away. The woman later reportedly attempted suicide. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
